Surging resonance

Organizing some of my favourite possessions, I found something that resonated with intensity. It was beautifully written. During this arrangement I also discovered old things, belongings, that took me back places.. places where it started, where it hatched, where it cooked and brewed. The development and growth of something called a person… that leads one into choices they make, people they fall in love with etc.

This thing was found in old papers, notes, lectures, assignments. Physics tells us that the amplitude is always more if the damping is low. Well damping in this case is quite low.

I am quoting poetry here for the first time. This one in its entirety…

“Valediction” by Seamus Heaney-1966

Lady with the frilled blouse
and simple tartan skirt,
Since you left the house
its emptiness has hurt
all thought. In your presence
time rode easy, anchored
on a smile, but absence
rocked love’s balance, unmoored
the days. They buck and bound
across the calender
pitched from the quiet sound
of your flower-tender
voice. Need breaks in my strand;
You’ve gone, I am at sea.
Until you resume command
Self is in mutiny.

Ha ha ha… !!! Well said, very well said! I kept laughing at it for quite a while. The gentleman beside was amused by my laughter. Although, there was a resonant laughter in the entire room.  Perhaps mine was too loud. I should watch it sometimes.

Just then I was musing over far reaching success achieved, its overviews being displayed. The sharp statement was a nice distraction. How sharp, how stark, how painfully true for world at large.

Love’s memory

It can be sad,
It can be beautiful.
Reassuring, enlightening, comforting.

A state where
the absence;
it ceases to be a sting
ceases to be a pang.

There remains,
only what it has given.
Its healing, its cleansing
Its simple purification.

The moment I saw Sadhna  for the first time, I exclaimed.. Oh my! she resembles Audrey…!

Or Audrey resembles her…! Well they both resemble eachother. Don’t they? Here’s a picture I put together of them both. This pictures brings out the similarities between their faces and expressions a lot. May be at other occasions one would fail to notice it.

Audrey and Sadhna

Sadhna (born 1941, Karachi) is a famous Bollywood actress while, Audrey (born 1929, Brussels – died 1993 Switzerland) was an unusual, a very atypical  Hollywood Actress and a humanitarian.

The interesting fact that I have found about this resemblance  since first discovering it is…

Sadhna married the director (R.K. Nayyar) of the film that she played her first lead role in. R.K. Nayyar in that first film created her look and asked her to style her hair after Audrey’s fringe to highlight this resemblance and cover her very broad forehead. The hairstyle apparently after wards became a craze. The interesting thing here is that Audrey (the undisputed beauty that she is now) also used to get noticed for not one, but many flaws in her appearance during her early career. In case of Sadhna though, R.K’s act is not of singling out, its of enhancement and love.

Another interesting fact that I found (via IMDB) was, that during that first film (1959) when they fell in love. They were too young. She probably 16 or 17 and he, 22. He was told to back off by her parents through legal action!!!. They later re-connected and married in 1965.

How on earth can one direct a full fledged feature film at the age “22″………. ?!?

Where do you stop praising this song and its visual rendition…? You absolutely cannot. I am hooked forever.

The composition, the lyrics, vocal excellence, its delivery, its rhythms leading to the calmness that is its melodious experience.

The video is the most beautifully captured romantic work that I have spotted in quite some time from the classic era. It is probably one of the most romantic ever.

You just wonder, who were these geniuses who thought, visualized, and then brought out the acts,  the gestures, the expressions and captured them on screen in a simplicity that speaks for itself. Simply beautiful lighting, the angles, the movements, the characters as they are followed on screen, kept and left from the frames. Expert! Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful.

And I will just say one thing about the acting. Its subtle. The hardest expressions to wear, the subtle, the touchy ones. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful.

Watch it, it has an effect of soothing your senses, even if you are in an anguish. That is if you have an affinity to romance and its ability to cure. Even if it is temporary, you get a break, you lull in it. Its an indulging rest. Ok, break time. I am watching it again.

Count Down

I am counting down to the time when … :) )

15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8 ,…….

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

Trying to hold the excitement. Smiling perpetually.

Sometimes I cover my face with hands and try to hide the tinge playing on my face..

Counting down. Its a blissful thing.

I hope every soul experiences this somewhere in their lifetime.  May God keep everyone happy.
